Seeing a cute dog abandoned by his purportedly forever family in a shelter always hurts our hearts. However, because of unforeseen circumstances, the puppies feel even worse about having to bid farewell to their home.
When Ritter’s family lost their home and was unable to care for the animals, they were taken to the Humane Society for Hamilton County in Indiana. Ritter also has a brother named Corky. Ritter, like many other dogs, was frightened and worried when he unexpectedly lost his cozy and cherished home.
According to Megan Bousley, marketing communications consultant for the Humane Society for Hamilton County, “He was terrified, nervous, and heartbroken, as many dogs are.” They are perplexed and terrified by the unfamiliar, noisy atmosphere, not knowing where their family has gone.
With his sorrowful and perplexed expression, he shattered everyone’s hearts when he was left alone in the kennel. He sat crushed against the wall and did nothing but stare down at the floor.
Ritter received a lot of affection and comfort from everyone at the shelter, but it wasn’t the same as having a permanent family. The staff has shown him a lot of love and care, Bousley said. While he is shy and uneasy in his kennel, he is joyful and eager to play and receive affection outside.
Everyone at the shelter were concernedaout Ritter’s melancholy and resolved to assist him in finding a new family as quickly as possible. In the hopes that a good dog lover would come by and give Ritter what he deserved, the crew posted his picture on Facebook.
Following the post’s over 3,000 shares, it finally caught Sophie Spenia’s attention, who then contacted the center. For a very long time, the woman had wanted to own a dog. She waited till she moved to a bigger house though, as she had a thing for huge pups. She spent every morning after purchasing her first home searching the Humane Society for Hamilton County’s website and Facebook page for the ideal dog for herself. When she finally saw Ritter’s heartbreaking photograph, she found what she had been looking for.
“I emailed my sister straight away and said we have to go bust him out of there right after work,” Spenia recalled when she first saw Ritter’s photo and description at 6 a.m. “My sister texted me the Facebook post that she had seen was popular two hours later. I explained the problem to my employer, who advised me to leave work immediately and head over to the shelter. He also enjoys dogs.
Spenia was overjoyed when Ritter’s answer was so tender, despite her worries that the dog could find it difficult to give his heart to a new family.
“I could tell he was such a sweetheart the moment he jogged straight on over to me and buried his huge cute head right in my lap,” Spenia added. I had to possess him!
Ritter and his loving mother finally arrived at his new forever home on Thursday after some paperwork. On the drive home, he couldn’t help but smile since he was so excited.
Ritter, the saddest puppy in the shelter, eventually found the nicest new mom, and it makes me so happy to see him smile again. He will undoubtedly spend the remainder of his days in love and joy in his new forever home.
